  • Mark & Stanley sorry to hear about your mom. I’m glad I accidentally called her before Christmas when I was trying to get ahold of Mark. She sounded great and she remembered me and I recognized her voice right away, even though I have only seen her a couple times in the last several years. I will always remember her fondly, all our best to you both and your families. Christine and Abigail Hoag

  • I will always remember and treasure my summers in Monkton with Guy,Hope,Steven and Reggie. I had some very good times. Hope and Guy certainly faced some very sad times. I think it only made them stronger as parents and a loving couple. They are together now.

Hope Evelyn Atkins Burritt

Monkton

                Hope Evelyn Atkins Burritt, 91 passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester.

                She was born August 30, 1926 in Monkton the daughter of Thaddeus and Evelyn Morgan Atkins.

                She was a member of Monkton Friends Methodist Church. She volunteered at Round Robin in Middlebury. She graduated from Bristol High School in 1944 and then graduated from Mary Fletcher School of Nursing in 1947 in the Cadet Program. She married Guy Burritt in 1947 and he predeceased her on September 6, 1984.

                Hope is survived by two sons Mark Burritt and wife Michelle; Stanley Burritt and wife Bonnie all of Monkton; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a nephew James Atkins.

                Predeceased by two sons, Steven Burritt and Reginald Burritt and a brother Norman Atkins.

                A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 11th at Monkton Friends Methodist Church. Burial will be in the spring. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Monkton Friends Methodist Church, Attn. Ralph Fitzgerald, 288 Monkton Ridge Road, North Ferrisburgh, VT 05473.
