GISELA RANDALL

GISELA RANDALL BRISTOL - Gisela Randall, 88, slipped peacefully away at home with her family on Wednesday morning April 4, 2018.  Born February 10, 1930 in Chester, New Jersey to Ernst and Else (Warsonke) Krauter.  She married Newton Phillips Randall in 1951 in Englewood, NJ and relocated to Beacon then Fishkill, NY where they enjoyed a wide circle of friends, dancing, skiing and sailing on the Hudson River and Lake Champlain. She also devoted her time to raising daughters Susan and Shelley, gardening, crafting fine clothing, leading Girl Scouts, fundraising for the local Highland Hospital and chairing various committees for the Trinity Episcopal Church.  Moving to Bristol, VT in 2002 they discovered new friends who often met for coffee in the late afternoon.  Gisela also found the warm and loving ladies of the CoffeeMates whose conversation and fellowship, then cards and notes, uplifted her during her vibrant years and then her illnesses.  She sang in the Bristol Federated Church choir and often contributed fresh baked yeast breads for coffee hour. Phil Randall predeceased her in 2010. She is survived by daughter Susan Elisabeth Randall Davis and fiance Lawrence Pike of Monkton; daughter Shelley Jean Randall of Bristol; grandchildren Anna Kristina Davis of Gardner, NY and Erik Benjamin Randall Davis of Burlington, VT; and an extended family of relatives across the globe. Funeral services and coffee hour will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Bristol Federated Church.  There will be no calling hours and interment at Greenwood Cemetery will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Addison County Home Heath and Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury VT 05753 or Hospice Volunteer Services, PO Box 772, Middlebury VT 05753.
