Emeline LaRose

On Tuesday, February 21st 2017 Emeline Mammie LaRose passed away peacefully at The University of Vermont Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Emeline was born on October 14th, 1954 in Burlington, Vermont to father Olin LaRose and mother Erma Mae Stokes Humiston who both pre-deceased her. She grew up in Vergennes where she spent most of her life.
Emmi leaves her two amazing children, Julie LaRose Gould and Codie Roderick LaRose and their families. Julie and husband Barry Gould live in Clearwater Florida and their son Alex, Codie and wife Donna Bohannon LaRose live in Alburgh and Codie’s son Hayden, his mother Nickie Perry and his two sisters, Alesha and Ryleigh (Baby Girl) who were also grandchildren in Emmy’s heart. Donna has four children that were dear to Emeline as well, Courtney, Joshua, Gage and Jared and their families.
Emeline also leaves behind six siblings, Albert LaRose (Marlene,) Reginald LaRose (Doris), Darlene Stark, Rodney LaRose (Arthea), Howard Humiston and Laurie Raymond (Andy). Emmi has many, nieces and nephews that nicknamed her “Auntie Em” as well as many cousins that were dear to her and three very special friends, Karen Larrow and family Donna Beirholm and family and Cathy Farr and many others that she considered very special.
Emmi worked for many years for Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) of Middlebury as well as the John Graham Shelter in Vergennes. Emmi loved to pick up tips from her favorite cooking shows and put them to good use by creating many beautiful cakes for a variety of events. She enjoyed making chocolate candies for holidays, crocheting and she, loved to dance especially to her favorite singer, Elvis, but nothing gave her greater pleasure than spending time with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.
Emeline will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She will always hold a special place in the hearts of all. In lieu of flowers please donate to Mental Health of Addison County, the American Diabetes Foundation or the Kidney Awareness Foundation.
Calling hours will be from 2PM to 4PM on Saturday, February 25th at the Brown McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes.
