Ralph Chester “Chet” Jewell

                Chet passed away on October 31, 2019 peacefully after a long illness surrounded by his family.

                He was born in Monkton on September 24, 1942 to Ernest & Ina (Thurston) Jewell.

                He lived in Monkton most of his life, wintering in Lake Placid Florida since 1991. Chet was a truck driver for over 50 years. Driving truck (Peterbilt) was his passion.

                Chet is survived by his wife of 56 years Joyce (Shepard) Jewell & his five children; Lorie, Tina, James (Sue), Glen (Kim), Danny Jewell. Two sisters Viola (Rolland) Brace & Avonia Conant & a brother- in-law Charles (Dawn) Shepard.                

                He was predeceased by his parents Ernest & Ina Jewell & his mother-in-law Helen Shepard Lebeau.

Seven grandchildren; Christopher, Michael, Melissa, Brian, Elizabeth, Andrew, Akara & great grandchild Leah & very special companion his dog Cookie.

                Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 3rd at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol from Noon to 2 p.m, and a memorial service will be held 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, Attn Wayland Wish’s, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753.   2. Our deepest condolences to Chets family. We got to know him and Joyce in fla. We loved them coming over to our house and chit chatting about every day events.. having lunch and driving to visit his favorite steer down the street. He always had fun stories to share. Thankful we got to be a part of his life even for a short 3 years). We will remember him as and miss him.
