Alberta Lucille McIntyre, 90, passed away, Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury. She was born September 25, 1930 in Lincoln the daughter of George and Florence (Hill) Ramsey. She married William J. McIntyre December 31, 1961 and they settled in Bristol, VT.
Alberta worked for Simmonds for over 25 years while raising her family. In her younger years she made decorative cakes for her family & Friends. She also enjoyed cross stitch and crocheting. In the last few years she had a special friend Tracy that would help her with shopping/cleaning but most of all Alberta enjoyed her friendship. She also took a liking to her daughter in law’s niece Michelle they shared a friendship through cards and letters.
Alberta is survived by her children Kathy Martell (Marty) of Vergennes, Shawn McIntyre (Nancy) of St. Albans, Son in law Daniel Briggs. Grandchildren Becky Briggs, Jason Briggs (Danielle), Gary Briggs, Sarah Briggs, Kayleen Kolk (Andrew), Courtney Martell, Kori Martell (Amber) & Ryan Parrott. Great Grandchildren Patrick, Isak, Lille, Chloe, Anya, Drew, Addie, Wryker, Alyvia, Wyatt, Dylan, Kodi, Dianna, Aurora, Israel & Isaiah.
Alberta was predeceased by her husband William J. McIntyre (5/11/12) and her daughter Laura Briggs (7/31/14) of her first marriage to Ellsworth Martell. In addition to her husband and daughter Alberta was preceded by her siblings Henry Ramsey, Jack Ramsey, Agnes Martel, Sonny Morgan, George Ramsey Jr. and Clifton Ramsey.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 28th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol from 5 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29th at Maple Cemetery in Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, Vt.
