We regretfully announce the passing of Reginald Leonard Blaise, who was surrounded by his loving family on December 29, 2022 at his home in Bristol after a long battle with dementia and congestive heart failure.
Reginald was born on May 31, 1948 to Leonard and Lillian (Desso) Blaise in Burlington, Vermont. Known by everyone as Reggie, he grew up in Addison County and attended Bristol High School. He married Brenda Butterfield in 1968. He was employed by Grand Union for over 18 years before purchasing his own store. Reggie’s pride and joy was becoming the owner of Blaise’s Country Store in Hinesburg. He and Brenda grew and expanded the business, running it successfully for over 22 years. Afterwards, he retired to Bristol to focus on his rentals and was an active member of the St. Ambrose Catholic church.
Reginald was survived by his loving wife, Brenda, son, Christopher and his wife Carolyn, his daughter Marie and husband Tom, his dear grandchildren, Jordan, Kianna, Elise, and Oliver, his sister, Judy and husband Henry Quelch, his sister-in-law Gail and her husband Randy Bernard, and his stepbrothers and stepsister.
He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Lillian, father, Leonard, and his stepmother Cecelia Booska Blaise, his in-laws O. Francis and Beatrice Butterfield.
Funeral services will be held at St. Ambrose Church on Saturday, January 7th at 11:00am with a reception following in the reception hall below the church. There is an elevator for those who need access. A private interment of his ashes will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Ambrose Church in Reginald’s name.
