Gloria Janet Terry, 88, passed away Aug. 30 at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury. She was born Aug. 26, 1937, in Bristol, the daughter of Florence and Charles LaMotte and stepfather Raymond Gray. She was the baby of fourteen children, all who had passed before her.

She married the love of her life, Thomas Terry on March 20, 1955, in New York.

Gloria was a skilled seamstress, crafter and artist. She was often found behind the sewing machine making clothes or dolls or playing in her flower gardens. In her younger years she painted with oil and many paintings hung in our home and locally. She was known for being lively and jovial and had a fun-loving spirit. She loved to dance and listen to music, especially live music.

She is survived by her son Jesse J. Terry (Nina Sorrentino) and daughter, Jeanette Marcum; grandchildren, Jarret Knapp (Elizabeth), Justin Terry, Kara Bennett (Vern Bowie), Jenna Terry, Hannah Marcum and Ben Marcum; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husbands, Thomas Terry and Richard Grant, and her son John P. Terry.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 12, from 6-8 p.m., at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, at St. Josephs Cemetery, 171 Broadway, Fort Edward, N.Y. 12828.
