Monkton – Melinda (Mindy) Jean Brace, 62 of Monkton, passed away on October 26th, 2026 at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont.  She was born April 10th, 1964 in Burlington, Vermont, the daughter of Linda Sweeney and William Waite.  She worked in home healthcare for many years, she was a homemaker, and worked in the Head Start Program when her youngest children were enrolled.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her many grandbabies.

She is survived by her husband John Brace Sr., her six children-Heather and husband Jeremy, Vicki and husband Greg, Marion and boyfriend Luis, John Jr. and wife Breanna, Susan and husband Andrew, Ethan and wife Autumn; Stepmother Micky, mother in-law Doris, fifteen grandchildren plus one on the way, brothers-William and girlfriend Megan, Edward and wife Becky, Michael and wife Jillian, James Patrick, Chuck and girlfriend Shelley, Jesse Sr. and wife Kim, James Robert, Sister Jessica and husband Paul, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother Linda and stepfather Bob, father William Sr., father in-law Wendell, sister Missy, and granddaughter Laelynn.

Funeral services / celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 7th at 11 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church, Route 7, Vergennes, Vermont.
