Carol Lee Kemp

 

Monkton – Carol Lee Kemp, 85, passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2025 in the comforts of her daughters home.

Carol was born in Mount Holly, VT, on October 2, 1939 to Gordon Henry and Irene (Johnson) Lee.

Carol was married to Ted R Hubbard Sr. from 1959 -1971. They worked together on the Hubbard Farm as they began the family business that is now known as Hubbard Brothers trash and recycling and Tracy R Hubbard Septic Service. Carol and Ted had 6 wonderful children during these years. Ted passed in 2011.

Carol was married to Roy F. Wilkinson from 1973 – 2010. Roy and Carol continued a friendship over the years and recently spent the holidays together with family.

Carol loved going to garage sales. She couldn’t pass by one without stopping. Carol loved getting her hair styled, nails done and she loved her things. Carol married Burton Kemp on September 13th 2021 while living in Whitehall. In 2023 Carol & Burt moved to Addison County to live with her daughter in Monkton to help with their care.

Carol leaves behind her husband, Burton Kemp, Six Children; Doreen Siliski, Ted Hubbard Jr. & wife Bridgid, Tim Hubbard Sr. & wife Bonnie, Tom Hubbard & wife Lisa, Tracy Hubbard & wife Nancy of North Clarendon and Jody & husband Mike Pierce of Monkton, 27 grandchildren, 43 Great Grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Carol was very proud. She loved each and every one unconditionally! Carol also leaves behind 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Carol’s brother Gordy and sisters Mary & Evelyn preceded her passing.

Services will be held at Brown McClay Funeral Home, 48 South Maple Street, Vergennes, VT. Sunday February 2nd, immediate family from 12:30PM – 1:30PM, Service will begin at 2:00PM – 3:00PM. With a reception following at the Eagles Club, 67 New Haven Road, Vergennes. A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol in the spring.
