David A. Jerry Jr.

East Ferrisburgh

David A Jerry Jr., 85, of East Ferrisburgh, VT went to rest on Thursday, February 18, 2021, on his family farm, surrounded by his family. He was born March 31, 1935 to David Jerry Sr. and Lucy (Annis) Jerry.

When David was in 8th grade he dropped out of school to help his father on the family farm, where he learned the ins and outs of farming. After his father passed in 1980, David took over the farm working the land and caring for the cows for the next 41 years.

David was stubborn and set in his ways, but always shared a good laugh. For those who knew David, they could tell if he was being serious or not. Many who knew David referred to him as “Dave, Son, uncle Sonny, or Jr.”

Besides having a passion for farming David enjoyed Square Dancing at the Cobbweb. He enjoyed going out to eat, going to auctions, (looking for the best deals) and visiting with friends and family.

David is survived by his sister Estelle Parker of Shelburne, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, five sisters, two nieces, and one nephew.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. A funeral service will be held in the spring. To send online condolences to his family please visit www.brownmcclayfuneralhomes.com
