Floyd Robert Sipley, “Sonny” went home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 after a battle with cancer.

He was born on January 7, 1941 at home in Fredon, NJ.

He is survived by his wife Dina of 62 years.

His 4 children: Judy and Gerard Sabourin of Shoreham, VT, Nancy and Roger Smith of Houghton, MI, Brian and Carole Sipley of Fredricksburg, IA, Lisa and Eric Vander Heide of Fort Mill, SC.

His 9 grandchildren: Rebecca and Bill Vander Weert of Vergennes, Jennifer Sabourin of Middlebury, Elizabeth and Brian Ryks of Bridport, Mike and Ellie Sabourin of Bridport, Zachary, Benjamin Sipley of IA and Emily Sipley of CO, and Ashley and Camron Vander Heide of SC.

His 7 Great grandchildren: Daniella, Jacob, Juliette and Lyndsey Vander Weert, Finley LaFerriere, Daniel Sabourin, and Lucas Ryks.

He is survived by his sisters, Harriet Van Gorden and Joyce and Bruce Kampka in Newton, NJ, and brother Harry Sipley of VA. Survived also by inlaws, Cornie and Wilma Dykema of Ferrisburgh, Cora Dykema of MI, Ann Dykema of Bridport and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Harriet Sipley of Newton, NJ and his brother Ronald in PA.

Floyd drove tractor trailer into NYC for Skuba & Klemm. Then he went into farming.

In 1976 they moved to Vermont. After he lost his barn in 1989, he worked at Saputo Cheese for 16 years. After he retired, he worked several summers on Lake Champlain Ferry.

The viewing will be at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes on Friday, November 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 19th at New Haven United Reformed Church on Route 7 in New Haven. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven on Town Hill Road at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 19th.
