Lorrette T. Bourgeois, 67, of Vergennes
Lorrette’s story began in Chittenden County, VT on February 29, 1948. The beloved daughter of Leo and Lucille Tromblay. After graduating from Essex High School, Lorrette continued her education at Fanny Allen Memorial School of Practical Nursing where she became an LPN. Soon after graduation she met and married her soul-mate Paul “Pepe” Bourgeois. Together they raised three children Paula, Alaric and Lucille. Her many hobbies included crafting, scrapbooking, baking, canning and watching her children and grandchildren compete in local swim meets. She also worked at Simmonds Precision in Vergennes for many years. She had various other jobs, but her true passion was her family, who knew her as “Meme” Lorrette’s story ended peacefully on February 4, 2016 surrounded by loved ones at her Panton home.
Lorrette is survived by her two sisters Linda Tromblay and Lucy Trayah. Devoted spouse and love of her life Paul Bourgeois. Daughter Paula and son-in-law Eric Owen. Son Alaric and daughter-in-law Melissa Bourgeois. Daughter Lucille Bourgeois and partner John Vanderhoof. Ten grand-children and seven great grand-children. Pre-deceased by her daughter Valarie Bourgeois. Those who knew her were blessed with her kindness and generous nature. She was loved by all fortunate enough to be graced with her presence and selflessness. Lorrette’s family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Anderson-Swayze for being her great doctor. Addison County Home Health & Hospice making it possible for her to stay home. A celebration of Lorrette’s life will be announced at a later date. “We miss you already”
