                Marie A. Provencher, 88, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, surrounded by her family, in the memory care unit at Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury.

                She was born February 16, 1929 in Bridport, the daughter of Jesse and Mattie (Mullis) Delphia.

                She was a member of St. Bernadette Church in Bridport, and at one time she belonged to American Legion Auxiliary Post #14 in Vergennes. She enjoyed wintering in Florida for 35 years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and step grandmother.

                Marie loved camping with family and friends, going dancing on Saturday nights with Harry, enjoyed her flowers and her cats and being a homemaker.

                Marie is survived by her loving husband, Harry; daughter, Cathy Collins and husband Rick; two step children, Monty Provencher and wife Donna, Randy Provencher and wife Wendy; three grandchildren, Adam, Erin, and Jesse; numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; a brother Everett Delphia and wife Rita and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lester Delphia (Rita) ; several nieces and nephews.

                She was predeceased by step children Holly Ashley, Wolf Song, Scott Provencher, and Roxanne Provencher and four brothers, Arthur, Ernest, Donald and Lester Delphia.

Cathy and the family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Helen Porter memory care for the kindness and professional care she received during her stay.

                Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 11th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, January 12th at St. Bernadette Church in Bridport.  Burial will be in the Spring.
