It is with heavy hearts that we put to rest our beloved Ruth Onalee D’Avignon who passed away peacefully Friday, November 1, 2019 in her home.
Ruth was born May 13, 1935 to her parents Edward and Mable Disorda in Forestdale, VT.
She lived a full life, in which she raised four children, 14 grandchildren/spouses, 13 great-grandchildren/spouse, and one great-great-granddaughter. Survived by: Robb D’Avignon of New Haven, Rowena D’Avignon of Bristol, Rock and Sharon D’Avignon of Bridport, and Royadon and Dot D’Avignon of Leicester; grandchildren: Shaina , Shaun, John, Sam, Jeremy, Mariah, Terrence, Lyndsay, Kayla, Sophia, Carlie, Tyler, Lucas, Levi, Nicolas, Noah, Willow, Keaton, Westley, and Kinley. Also survived by grandchildren/caretakers Sara and Lillie Chicoine.
Predeceased by husband Leonard D’Avignon, brother Seeley Disorda, parents Edward and Mable Disorda, children-in-laws Robert Corliss and Libby D’Avignon, and brother-in-law and best friend David D’Avignon.
Ruth loved to play the piano, sing along with Bing Crosby Christmas Songs and watch the birds feed on the seed outside her windows. There was not a person she met who wasn’t touched by her disposition; she had a quick wit and a strong will that lasted until her last breath.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 10th at Holman Cemetery in Salisbury.
