                Theresa (Tessy) Gauthier,75, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at VNA Respite House in Colchester.

                  She was born July 14, 1941 in Whiting, the daughter of Eli and Beatrice (Coutier) Gauthier.

                Theresa attended St. Mary’s School in Middlebury. She worked in the Food Service Departments at Middlebury College and the Breadloaf Campus, provided personal care for the elderly, and the antiques department at kennedy brothers. She enjoyed knitting and sewing quilts, music, and spending time with her family And friends. Tessy wanted people to be kind to each other and believed that is what keeps us all going.

                Theresa is survived by her children Lyn Billings, daughter in law Hope Mac Jarrett of Ferrisburgh, Tim Billings of Ferrisburgh, Charlene Fitzpatrick and her husband Erik of South Burlington; her four grandchildren Katie, Eli, Brianna, and Abigail; and many loving nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

                The family would like to express its thanks and gratitude for the care, support, and services that Theresa received from her friends and family, and from the generous staff and volunteers at these local organizations: Aging Well, Addison County Hospice Volunteers, the Joy Drive Dialysis Unit, ACTR drivers and the VNA Respite House. 

                Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 20th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be a celebration of life on the weekend of July 14th for her birthday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Project Independence, 112 Exchange Street, Middlebury, VT and to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753.
