Gloria Jean DeVine, 76, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at her home in Ferrisburgh after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born April 8, 1945 in Burlington the daughter of Pearl Clark. She went to Vergennes Union High School where she met Jack the love of her life and they married on August 29, 1964.  She was employed at BF Goodrich and retired in 2005.

Gloria loved knitting, photography, bicycling and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

               She is survived by her husband Jack, two daughters Lori DeVine and partner Dennis West of Vergennes, Lisa Spear and former husband Michael Spear of Williston.  Four Grand children Katlin, Erica, Matthew and Ryan and one great grandchild Lucas, and a sister Linda Langois-Munson and her husband Chuck.

                   She was predeceased by her sister Caroline Clark and her mother Pearl Clark.  

                 A Special thank you to Kathy, Donna, Ashley, Sarah L, Sarah A, Steffanie, Sandy and Christie of Addison County Home Health for their dedication to Gloria’s care during these last few weeks.

                Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 13th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes from 5 to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 14th at Gage Cemetery in Ferrisburgh. A gathering at the Ferrisburgh town office will be held immediately following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753.     Our prayers are with you and your family. Gloria was so special to us and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Family was so important to her and she kept in touch with all of us. Rest in peace Gloria!!

  2. I am sad to hear of your loss. Gloria was a friend, and my friend’s cousin. We were all at school together, but in different classes. We all worked summers at a girls camp together when we were teenagers. We became friends.

    Gloria was a special person. I think of Gloria, her strength, and your family at this time.
