John Matthew Beenen, Sr., 78, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020. He was born on November 11, 1941 in Ane, Overijssel, Netherlands to Gerrit and Johanna Beenen. He immigrated to the United States when he was 17 years old. He was very proud to be an American and considered it a privilege to live here. John spent most of his life as a dairy farmer in Vermont. He was a member of New Haven United Reformed Church.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Ava Jackson Beenen. He is survived by 4 children, Pamela Beenen, Patricia Kyle (husband, Perry), Jennifer Enoch (husband, Kenneth), and John Beenen, Jr. (wife, Mandy); 11 grandchildren, Madison, Taylor, James, Jackson, Jasmine, Walker, Gerrit, Hannah, Morgan, Benjamin, and Matthew; 3 step-grandchildren, Kendelle, Aaron, and Jacob; 5 siblings, Egbert Beenen (wife, Deeny), Joanne VanderVelde (husband, Douglas), Swanee Visser (husband, Raymond), Jeri Kett (husband, Jim), and Tina Persenaire (husband, Dennis); and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Carol Treadway for her loving care for John.
There will be a private graveside service.
