Mary M Grant, 91, died peacefully in her sleep at the Helen Porter Nursing Home on October 8, 2016.
Mary was born on May 21, 1925 in Ferrisburg, Vermont. She was the daughter of Leon and Helen Larrow.
Mary, a life time Vermont resident, was a member of the St Peters Catholic Church in Vergennes and Immaculate Heart of Mary in Williston. Mary retired from Simmons Precision after more than 25 years where she met her second husband, William Grant. They were married on July 17, 1976.
Mary is predeceased by her husband of 29 years, William, her daughter Claudia Enloe and brother Franklin Larrow.
She is survived by her sisters, Catherine LeBoeuf, Connie Muniz, Leone (Bob) Lawson, and Helen (Bob) Panton. Her children, Randall Laflin, Ken Laflin, Pam (Dana) Larrow, Laurie (Andre) Desautels , Lisa (Steve)Ecker, and step children, Kathy (Peter) Hubbard, Bill Grant and Sue (Joe) Ferra. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild who were the joy of her life.
Mary was a selfless, giving and generous woman who always put others needs before her own. She enjoyed gardening and was known as an outstanding cook. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
Calling hours will be at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes on Sunday, October 16th from 3 to 7p.m. The funeral will be held at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes on Monday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. with burial immediately following at Prospect Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be held at the American Legion in Vergennes.
